What is the deadline?

March 1, 2017:  Submissions open

April 10, 2017:   Early Bird Deadline ($35 fee, Students $20)

May 15, 2017:   General Deadline ($45 fee, Students $30)

June 19, 2017:   Late Submission Deadline ($55 fee, Students $40)

Filmmakers will be notified if they are selected by August 1, 2017.

 


How can I submit my film?

Beginning March 1, submissions will be handled online.  Click HERE to submit your film.

 


Where do I send my film?

Submissions should be handed online and should include links to your film. If you must send your film, please send your film to:

How long is a short film?

Films under 60 minutes are considered short films.


How long is a feature film?

Films 60 minutes and over are considered feature films.


What are the categories of films accepted?

We accept films of all categories including feature, documentary, short, narrative, professional and student.


How are the films selected for the festival?

Films submitted to the festival are reviewed by our selection team, looking for story line and overall production value.


Is it a postmarked deadline or received by deadline?

The submissions deadline is a postmarked by deadline.


Do you accept rough cuts/work-in-progress?

Yes, we will review and consider rough cuts and works-in-progress. Please note on the submission what elements are still being worked on.


Should I send a press kit?

If your film is selected into the festival, you will be asked to provide an electronic press kit (EPK).


Can I submit more than one film?

Yes, but each film must have its own submission form filled out and fee paid.


When will I find out if my film is accepted?

We notify filmmakers if they are accepted into the festival by August 1, 2017.


What are the acceptable screening formats for your festival?

For the submission process we will accept Vimeo, Dropbox or Youtube links.

If selected, filmmakers will be required to provide an Apple Pro-Res 422, 1080p digital version of the film (or highest resolution available).  If available, a DCP version is appreciated too.  Send entries in sturdy, reusable containers or bubble wrap envelopes.  Drives used for film delivery will be returned.


Can I get confirmation that you received my submission?

Yes, your status will be updated on Submittable.


What additional information do I need to provide for submission as a student/military filmmaker?

Please include a photocopy of the front of your school ID or proof of military service.


If my film is not chosen, may I speak with a member of the selection team for notes or feedback?

Due to time constraints and the large number of submissions, we are unable to give individual feedback.
