Description

When US Army soldier Julie Morales is hit by a sniper in Afghanistan, she fights to stay alive by clinging to childhood memories of her dangerous journey through Mexico. Julie flashes back to her time as a newly orphaned girl, when her only friend is Armando, an old smuggler, who helps her follow her dream to leave her Guatemalan village and find a new life in America. The unlikely pair must count on each other as they travel through Mexico. Despite their caution, a wrong turn leads them into the arms of a particularly vicious gang member. Suddenly, the two find themselves kidnapped and at the mercy of The Teacher, a notorious cartel leader. Now she must make a choice to either stay quiet in the shadows or risk her life to stand up for herself and Armando.
