Description
“Thank You for Your Service” looks at four Iraq War veterans dealing with war trauma and reflects on the lack of treatment offered. In the film, mental health advocates team up with soldiers to bring awareness to their struggles in a social, political way rather than as a “sickness.” “Thank You for Your Service” shows how witnessing and partaking in the violence of war affects soldiers for the rest of their lives. Without the proper mental health facilities and counseling, many veterans feel alone, suffer from PTSD, depression, and even suicide. The film serves as a mental health reform advocate, a change that would positively impact veterans’ lives.
