  1. Escape from Firebase Kate

    During the end of the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, 26 American troops are caught in the transition. Unsupported by the South Vietnamese, the men are surrounded by thousands of North Vietnamese troops. After surviving a three-day siege, they escape through the jungle and directly past enemy troops. “Escape From Firebase Kate” is their story, told by the men who survived.

    In 1969, a 61-day siege during the Vietnam war killed half of the 600 American soldiers in the 299th Engineer Battalion. During the 40th Anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, five surviving men return to Dak To, Vietnam, where the disaster that haunts them still takes place.
