Director's Bio
David Oleary has been experimenting with film since he converted the family bathroom to his first dark room 40 years ago. Based in San Diego, Oleary has re-invented himself from a decade of theatrical & wedding videography to a narrative filmmaker. Having worked on numerous film productions from 16mm to 35mm and broadcast level digital, Oleary has already been instrumental in bringing dramatic cinematography to the current festival circuit.
Studying at San Diego State University to complete his MA in Film Production, Oleary received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1983. Oleary then served seven years in the U.S. Air Force as a communications officer. He continued afterwards to own and preside over many companies having full responsibility for all facets from staffing, marketing, funding, production and delivery of products in various industries including video production. Oleary currently works as a real estate broker in San Diego. In addition to funding his own films, he offers a 10% “artistic tithing” back to the local film community.
