Even though Black History Month draws to a close this week, we hope you’ll appreciate Black stories year-round. Today, we invite you to watch these three thought-provoking films featuring Black Americans in the military.

Antwone Fisher

Based on a biography, “Antwone Fisher” follows a troubled sailor who is ordered to see a naval psychologist. As Fisher unpacks his past, he goes on a journey of self-discovery and begins to open up emotionally. Derek Luke and Denzel Washington star in this hard-hitting drama.  on Prime Video.


A Soldier’s Story

Taking place during WWII, “A Soldier’s Story” revolves around a military base murder and the officer brought in to investigate what actually happened. Starring Howard E. Rollins Jr. and Denzel Washington, this film is an adaptation of a Pulitzer prize-winning play.  on Prime Video.


The 24th

This historical drama tells the story of the all-Black Twenty-Fourth United States Infantry Regiment during the 1917 Houston Riot. Writer and director Kevin Willmott has also written for films like “BlacKkKlansman” and “Da 5 Bloods” in collaboration with renowned director Spike Lee.  on Prime Video.
