Opening Night featuring Make Peace or Die

Opening Night at the GI Film Festival San Diego features the world premiere of “Make Peace or Die,” a feature-length documentary from award-winning filmmaker Manny Marquez. The opening night includes a reception with small bites, beer, wine and other refreshments before the film’s screening. A post-screening discussion with the filmmaker, film subject and other guests close the evening.

ABOUT THE FILM
U.S. Marine Corps veteran Anthony Marquez returned from Afghanistan deeply wounded and riddled with survivor’s guilt. His unit, 1st Battalion 5th Marine Regiment, lost 17 men on their 2011 deployment to Sangin. Upon returning home, Anthony made it his mission to help the Gold Star families find healing, and in doing so, attempt to heal himself.
