ABOUT THIS FILM:

When four Australian soldiers capture a young Afghani boy spying on their position, tensions rise among them as they decide whether he’s helping the Taliban or simply playing.


FILMMAKER BIO:

Immediately after graduating from film school, Joey Chebatte wrote, produced and directed his first student short-film, THREE HEARTS. The film shortlisted at the Dances with Films film festival in LA and made its world premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Soon after, his short-film script, ENTRENCHED finalized in several international screenwriting competitions, including Cinequest and Hollyshorts. Most notably however it came third at the 2016 Slamdance screenwriting festival.

Following his success in the screenwriting festival circuit, Joey became a recipient of the WestWords Emerging Writers’ Fellowship with ENTRENCHED, awarding him a mentorship with veteran actor, Bryan Brown.

When he’s not pursuing his endeavors as a writer and director, Joey works in lighting on various films, TV series and commercials in the Australian film industry.
