Haunted by the memories of war, a veteran struggles to return to normal life. Nina experiences a severe PTSD episode during her first Independence Day in America. As the explosions of the fireworks intensify, so too does her anxiety. Alone and without any support, she is forced to relive a traumatic event related to her combat experience in a supermarket.

About the Filmmaker

Jojo Erholtz is a Finnish filmmaker currently based in Helsinki. She recently directed the third season of Finland’s popular dramedy series EX-ONNELLISET (LIVING WITH YOUR EX). Jojo is the recipient of the Best Writer Award at Underwire Film Festival and the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Best Editor. Her AFI thesis film TAPE won special mention for Best Student U.S. Short at the Palm Springs ShortFest 2020. Jojo holds an MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute and an MA in Editing from the National Film and Television School in the UK.
